In mid-October CoachesAid.com laid off many of its state content coordinators, myself included. Due to technical and revenue issues, CoachesAid.com had to scale back in 35 states. Meaning after its nationwide launch in August most of the CoachesAid staff were left without jobs.

Prior to the Kentucky site being placed on hold, the site had been doing extremely well. As the content coordinator, I was extremely excited to see where we would be at the end of the basketball season.
The good news is that I am back and will continue to update everyone on the high school sports scene in Kentucky.
The bad news is that we missed out a lot including state championships in volleyball and soccer, as well as the end of the football season.
So, let's play catchup.
Mercy won its second consecutive state title when it defeated Louisville rival Sacred Heart, 18-25, 25-23, 25-18. Before the season started, Mercy was expected to have a solid team despite having graduated seven seniors including 2008 Miss Volleyball Kelsey Anderson. Sacred Heart, on the other hand, was the state's favorite in 2009 featuring seniors Emily Juhl (Louisville commit), Ashley Potts (WKU), Kelsey Dunaway (Xavier) and Caitlin Dotson (Lipscomb).
Northern Kentucky powers Notre Dame and Newport Central Catholic lost to the Louisville schools in the state semifinals at Regents Hall at Northern Kentucky University.
In soccer, St. Xavier took the state title on the boys' side while Sacred Heart won the girls' title.
St. X won its 10th state championship - Tyler Riggs scored four goals in the last two games and was named the MVP of the state tournament at Georgetown.
Sacred Heart won a close battle with Notre Dame on penalty kicks in the state final.
Personally, I wish that I had been on board to cover these events more closely. However, it is time to move forward. There so much going on, with the second round of the football playoffs taking place this week and the basketball season being only a few weeks away.
Last, I would like to say that I am happy to be back. Please help the site climb back to where it was and grow even stronger. Visit our blog and forum to discuss Kentucky high school athletics. Also, you can find all the scores from the first round of the football playoffs on our scoreboard.
